diva scrapping

Posted on: June 6, 2007

This is not really meant to be an ENTIRELY scrapbooking blog (nothing wrong with them, just not my original intention for mine). Though you may not be able to tell.

But here’s another layout! (Or two.)

On Friday I went and scrapped with some friends (hey, Stef, I need that photo!). Did four pages, none of them my favorite ever, but hey. (Probably partly because they’re older photos, all from 2004, and my pictures are so much better nowadays. Not just because of my rocking camera, though it certainly helps.) I was much more fond of a couple that I did earlier that week. And I’ve done four since — my year’s count is now 101! Wahoo!

So here, for your viewing pleasure:

PP: Wild Asparagus (MME)
Rubons, trim, pin: Making Memories
Pen: Uniball Signo
Paint

I like this one. I’m proud of the little accent I concocted from bits of ribbon, and of the title — I bought a package of Around the Block paper at the dollar store, “Hot Chocolate” printed cardstock. I figured I would have to trade away a bunch of it (after all, how many layouts about hot chocolate can one do?) and I’m still planning to trade some, but lucky for me the other side of it is a useful plain brown (as seen in this layout). And I also got to punch part of the patterned side and use it for the title. How lovely.

Cardstock: Bazzill
PP: Die Cuts with a View
Snaps, rubons: Making Memories
Letter stickers: American Crafts
Colored pencils: Prismacolor

This one is by far my favorite I’ve done for a while. I might even consider submitting it somewhere — though the photos are far from stellar. It’s a funny story (wearing underwear on your head always is, isn’t it?), and I like the simple way it came out. And my idea for using snaps as borders, like so. (I was inspired when I saw some dotted ribbon on another layout — but it’s rather a different thing so I will claim the idea as my own.)

CS: DCWV
PP: American Crafts
Chipboard stars: Heidi Swapp
Foam stamps: Lil’ Davis
Font: Uncle Charles (Autumn Leaves, on 2ps)
paint

This one I did today. I like it. Scraplifted from a Heidi Swapp layout in last year’s CK top 10 magazine. Anyway. I especially like the title circle. “Hey now, you’re an all star, get your game on, go, play…”

There’s more, but I really must get to bed. If you want to see them, especially the ones I did at the Diva gathering, go to my set on Flickr here. They’re at the end of the set….

In other news, on Sunday we are flying back East to visit with my dad and then my mom. I’ll probably blog some from there, but as you may imagine, it’ll be a bit different. (No scrapping for a month — you’ll get a break from layouts.) I already feel the need for an extra memory card…

Great layouts!!!

Great pages Sam!!!

I may have to snag your Chocolate Face title though. 😉

Which picture do you want? The group picture? Some of the pictures? All of the pictures? I usually upload to Snapfish but if you want me to email the full sized photos to you, I can. Just let me know.

Even though this is not ENTIRELY a scrapping blog I really liked these layouts Falwyn. I especially liked the photo grouping on the chocolate one and they way you’ve done the edges. And that accent is just perfect.

Hey, dude! Does your camera by any chance take an SD card? I’ve got an extra 1 gig card. I passed on my old camera to my mom, and she already had plenty — I was going to give it to someone else, but I was wrong about what type of card they needed.

Anywho, if that IS the kind of card your camera takes, send me an email with one of your parent’s addresses and I’ll put it in the mail asap. (firstname . lastname@fmr.com)
